Ener.co implemented comprehensive HVAC coil energy savings retrofits at Alfred Weissman Real Estate’s commercial office property.

Project Summary

In the fall of 2013, Ener.co performed its comprehensive energy saving retrofit measure on the condenser coils of 310 tons of air-cooled equipment at AWRE’s 137,000 ft² commercial office space located in White Plains, New York. In this project, Ener.co recovered the units’ air-cooled condensers by treating the coils with high efficiency Enercoat™ technology. The net energy savings achieved by the coil treatment amounted to 119% of the initial energy savings projection.

• Energy Savings

  Annual electric savings equaled $45,000 or 370,000 kWh. Peak power demand was reduced by 31 kW.

• GHG Reduction

  With this project the client reduces their annual green house gas emissions by 102 tons.

• Investment

  Project cost including HVAC improvements and Energy Performance M&V $39,438.

• Financial Return

  The project paid itself back completely from energy savings after 11 months. The treatment is responsible for the deferment of $120,000 in capital expenditure for new equipment. The facility’s decision to treat the coils has put it on track to produce an additional $540,000 in energy savings over the next 10 years.
